The Illinois Gaming Board is seeking a Human Resources Associate, Option 2 to perform a variety of paraprofessional duties in Human Resources for the Human Resources Manager and staff. If you are well organized and experienced in office practices, we encourage you to apply.

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSOCIATE, OPTION 2 

Essential Functions

• Provide paraprofessional assistance to the Human Resources Manager and Human Resources staff.
• Prepares evaluation notices for supervisors informing them of evaluation due dates and type of evaluation to complete and submit for their employees.
• Utilizes a personal computer and various software programs, such as Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Personnel Examination and Eligibility Records System (PEERS), Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Posting System and other human resources systems and programs for the retrieval of personnel information and completion of human resources forms and documents.
• Assists HR staff with various mass mailing and special projects.
• Provides assistance to employees and the general public through telephone, email, and walk-in inquiries.
• Receives, screens, date stamps, processes, and routes incoming inter-office mail, faxes, and electronic and hand-delivered correspondence to the appropriate HR staff.
• Provides assistance to employees and the general public through telephone, email, and walk-in inquiries.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.
• Requires the skill to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefers 2 years of extensive knowledge of office practices and procedures.
• Prefers 2 years of extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Prefers 2 years of extensive knowledge of arithmetic computations.
• Prefers 2 years of working knowledge of human resources programs, rules, and regulations.
• Prefers the ability to establish and develop written instructions and procedures.
• Prefers ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment, systems, and software and perform routine maintenance.

• Must comply with the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act: No State employee who works for the Illinois Gaming Board, or spouse or immediate family member living with such person shall, during State employment, hold an ownership interest in, other than a passive interest in, a publicly traded company, in any gaming license under the Illinois Gambling Act, the Video Gaming Act, the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975, or the Sports Wagering Act.
• Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: No person shall be employed to serve the Board who is, or whose spouse, parent, or child is, an official of, or has a financial interest in or financial relation with, any operator engaged in gambling operations within this State, or any organization engaged in conducting horse racing within this State.
• Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: For one year immediately
preceding employment, an employee shall not have been employed or
received compensation or fees for services from a person or entity, or its parent or affiliate, that has engaged in business with the Board, a licensee, or a licensee under the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975.
