Parking Control Officer - 3rd Shift

The Oshkosh Police Department is seeking to fill one 3rd Shift Part-Time Parking Control Officer vacancy. The core hours for this position are 12:30 a.m. - 5:30 a.m. The position may include benefits depending on the work schedule selected. Options are as follows:

With benefits: working 25 hours per week on a rotating schedule of 5 days on, 2 days off/5 days on, 3 days off
Without benefits: working a flexible schedule of no more than 20 hours per week as needed to fill in for gaps in shift coverage 

 

The Parking Control Officer is a non-sworn position within the Operations Bureau, Patrol Division and is responsible for enforcing and issuing all parking violations.  Other duties may include:

  • Parking Enforcement and Related Duties – 50%: Enforce all parking violations and issue citations for parking violations. Respond to parking ticket appeals. Prepare for court and testify in court honestly, impartially and convincingly.
  • Vehicle Operation and Equipment Maintenance – 35%: Operate a motor vehicle under various conditions.  Properly care for and maintain department vehicles and equipment issued or assigned to the Parking Control Officer.
  • Administrative Duties – 15%:  Prepare and submit written and daily activity reports. Enter overnight parking permission data. Track parking issues. Attend and participate in training programs as appropriate. Assist other Police Department personnel, including sworn officers and civilian staff, as requested.

Qualified Candidates:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
