Research Technician

Work Location: Franklin Indiana

 

Principal Function:  Preforms analytical tests and experiments in support of biotech research projects. Operates laboratory equipment and instruments. Utilizes scientific software to interpret and record test results. Experienced with standard chemistry and molecular biology lab practices and techniques. Work with supervisor oversight. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. 2-4 years of related experience.  


 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Works with other team members in support of the validation and sample analysis of large molecule bioanalytical methods to support a range of nonclinical/clinical studies needs including, but not limited to PK/TK, immunogenicity, biomarkers, etc.


 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Under the supervision of Scientist perform a variety of assays including conventional Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA)/Electrochemiluminescence (ECLIA) immunoassays
  • Under supervision complete method validations and sample analysis
  • Assist in troubleshoot existing analytical methods
  • Record and note the experimental processes on time and in a correct documentation format
  • Report and treat data with high level of integrity and ethics
  • Comply with applicable regulations (GXP); maintain proper records in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies
  • Under supervision maintain laboratory equipment, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



 

 

Requirements

 

Education and/or Experience: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in chemistry/biochemistry, or a Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a related science, or an Associate level degree in a science field with at least two-years of direct laboratory experience. An equivalent combination of related education and required work experience will be considered with management approval.


 

Other Skills and Abilities: The following skills and abilities are either required or desired.

  • ELISA/Ligand Binding Assay experience strongly preferred Incumbent must have the ability to adapt and conform to shifting priorities and demands and execute accordingly.
  • Strong organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
  • Computer software skills desired include: Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, OneNote, SharePoint, and Teams. Minimum PhD in cell biology/biochemistry or related discipline, with at least 5 years of experience performing cell-based assays in a regulated bioanalytical setting.
  • Must be team-oriented and be able/willing to interact collaboratively, cooperatively, and effectively with other scientists, B2S staff and customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
