Exercise Science Intern

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Exercise Science Intern to join our team at Delta Sport Fitness & Nutrition, LLC. As an Exercise Science Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with all populations, working closely with our strength & conditioning coaches, personal trainers and wellness professionals. This internship provides a valuable learning experience for individuals pursuing a degree in exercise science or a related field.

Prerequisites: Current CPR & AED Certification (Must be up-to-date)

Responsibilities: Demonstrate competency in all learning objective over a time frame in accordance with your academic institution 

Learning Objectives

Daily Operations of a Boutique Training Studio

  • Opening / Closing Procedures
  • Cleaning / Hygiene Procedures
  • Equipment Maintenance / Client Safety
  • Administration / Office Work

Client Intake & Intervention Rx

  • Wellness Screening
  • Posture & Movement Analysis
  • Body Composition Analysis
  • Readiness Questionnaire
  • Lifestyle Factors (i.e. Nutrition & Recovery)

Programming & Periodization

  • Client Needs / Goals / Screening Results
  • Training Age / Regressions / Progressions
  • Pretest / Retest / Posttest
  • Warmup / Workout / Cooldown (i.e. Nervous System Innervation)

Continuing Education 

  • Interpreting Screening Results
  • Movement Pattern Impairments / Referral Network
  • Mobility / Stability / Corrective Exercise / Cueing
  • Roles of Fascia / Connective Tissue
  • Periodization & Training Focus
  • Endurance / Hypertrophy / Strength / Power
  • Energy Systems / Substrate Utilization

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Passion for promoting health and wellness through exercise.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and exercise principles.
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to a dynamic environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
