Community Integration Coordinator

Public Health AmeriCorps is a 1 year National Service Opportunity in the State of Maine.

Location: Augusta, ME

Focus Area: Community Outreach, Disability Services, Public Health

$500/mo extra HOUSING ALLOWANCE PROVIDED

Goodwill Northern New England   Maine, Statewide

Goodwill NNE operates multiple programs for individuals with disabilities. All of these programs strive to create innovative opportunities for clients to be integrated into the community as they desire. We are looking to expand these efforts in partnership with other organizations around Maine by placing AmeriCorps Members to serve directly with these individuals. Coordinators will:

  • Deliver Work Readiness/Community Integration Boot Camp
  • Create community engagement plans in cooperation with clients and residential staff
  • Make connections on behalf of or with clients to community partners
  • Research opportunities for clients to volunteer, work, or take part in community events.
  • Create and plan small scale events and activities that engage residents in the home and greater community.
  • Take clients (drive, bus, walk) into the community for work, meetings, or recreation

1200 Hours : $16,800
900 Hours : $12,000

Segal Education Award

1700 : $7,395
1500 : $5,176.50
900 : $3,697.50
This scholarship can be used to pay off Federally qualified student loans for
Educational Expenses at a Title IV Institution. If member is over the age of 55
at the time of enrollment, they may choose to transfer this award to a child, grandchild, or foster child

ACA-compliant Health Insurance
at no cost to full-time members from the first day of service to the last day of the last month of the term

Loan forbearance & Interest Payment 
Federally qualified student loans may be placed in forbearance during the term of service and any interest that accrues during that time will be paid off by AmeriCorps

Mileage Reimbursement to AmeriCorps-sponsored training events from Goodwill NNE

Reimbursement for mileage expenses associated with project-related travel from the host site at the rate that the organization reimburses existing volunteers and/or staff
