The mission of Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County (HCMOW) is to create connection and enrich the lives of older and homebound adults who live independently through nutrition, social engagement and community services. HCMOW offers home delivered meals and community dining programs throughout the county to older adults, homebound adults, and other eligible individuals. Our community dining programs serve all individuals aged 60 or older (regardless of location) and aim to combat social isolation. The Dine Out Club allows participants to dine (off of a select menu) at partnered restaurants for free.

The member in this role will support expansion of the Dine Out Club program by organizing and hosting information sessions, creating and maintaining relationships with current restaurant partners and researching new potential restaurants. The member will also work to identify community needs based on demographic data and help develop nutrition information for clients in the programs.

This scholarship can be used to pay off Federally qualified student loans for
Educational Expenses at a Title IV Institution. If member is over the age of 55
at the time of enrollment, they may choose to transfer this award to a child, grandchild, or foster child

at no cost to full-time members from the first day of service to the last day of the last month of the term

Loan forbearance & Interest Payment 
Federally qualified student loans may be placed in forbearance during the term of service and any interest that accrues during that time will be paid off by AmeriCorps

Mileage Reimbursement to AmeriCorps-sponsored training events from Goodwill NNE

Reimbursement for mileage expenses associated with project-related travel from the host site at the rate that the organization reimburses existing volunteers and/or staff
