Electrical Engineering Intern

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team in Portugal. This internship offers a unique opportunity for aspiring electrical engineers to work on exciting projects and gain valuable experience in a global engineering setting. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with experienced professionals on projects ranging from electrical system design to testing and implementation.

Possible Responsibilities

• Electrical System Design
  • Assist in the design and development of electrical systems for diverse applications.
  • Contribute to the creation of schematics, drawings, and specifications.
• Testing and Troubleshooting
  • Participate in testing procedures to ensure the functionality and reliability of electrical components and systems.
  • Collaborate on troubleshooting activities and propose solutions.
• Hardware Development
  • Contribute to the development of hardware components for industrial applications.
  • Assist in the selection and integration of electrical components.
• Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute insights to enhance project outcomes.
• Documentation and Reporting
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to electrical designs and project progress.
  • Generate reports summarizing testing results and design evaluations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and concepts.
• Familiarity with CAD tools for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
