Stewardship Coordinator - Flexible Work Location within Georgia

The Nature Conservancy in Georgia is hiring a Stewardship Coordinator

This job provides a unique chance to find meaning and purpose. You will fulfill conservation objectives in the beautiful state of Georgia and contribute to conservation goals through many networks while traveling across the state! We’re seeking a passionate, dedicated person to support our Chapter and work within our division. Multi-tasking, creativity, and teamwork are key in this role. We envision this role being 50/50 office-field with flexibility in that range depending on the unique skill set of the applicant. Field based work will involve supporting one of the largest fire programs in the Conservancy and stewarding some of our remote preserves and easements that do not have dedicated staff. Office based work will involve supporting the administration of our conservation programs ranging from grants tracking to project reporting to organizing multi-organizational collaborations and innovating our budding field aligned GIS work.

 

We are looking for someone who can bring the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, natural resources management, or related field and 2 years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with ESRI GIS software applications and uses.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects.
  • Experience handling standard business communications.
  • Must be able to obtain qualifications as a Fire Fighter Type 2 (FFT2), including Introduction to ICS (I-100), Human Factors on the Fire line (L-180), Introduction to the National Incident Management System (IS-700), Introduction to Wild Land Fire Behavior (S-190), Firefighting Training (S-130), and one training burn serving under the supervision of a qualified FFT2.  See http://www.tncfiremanual.org/firefighter.htm
  • Must achieve the arduous or moderate physical fitness standards as described in the TNC Fire Manual.
