Telecommunications Engineer Intern

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Telecommunications Engineering Intern to join our team in Portugal. Possible Responsibilities

• Network Optimization
  • Assist in the optimization of telecommunications networks to enhance performance, coverage, and quality of service.
  • Collaborate with network engineers on troubleshooting and resolving network-related issues.
• Technology Deployment
  • Contribute to the deployment of new technologies, including 5G, IoT, and other emerging telecommunications solutions.
  • Participate in testing and validation activities to ensure the successful integration of new technologies.
• Data Analysis
  • Work with large datasets to analyze network performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to generate insights and recommendations for network enhancements.
• Infrastructure Planning
  • Assist in the planning and design of telecommunications infrastructure to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and selection of telecommunications equipment and technologies.
• Collaboration and Documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, network architects, and project managers.
  • Contribute to the documentation of network configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of telecommunications concepts, protocols, and network architecture.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with network simulation and analysis tools is a plus.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies in the telecommunications industry.

On-site Supervision and Support

Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 

Academic Credit

Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.
