HR Operations Intern

The hourly pay range for this role is estimated to be $17-$21 per hour at the time of the posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, student classification/year of study, experience, knowledge, and skills.

 

You will support these Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboard new employees, including entry in applicable HRIS systems, complete I9 verification, initiate background checks, personnel file maintenance and other employment-related processing
  • Offboard exiting employees including entry in applicable HRIS systems and communication with impacted internal customers
  • Provide support for Dematic customers in the on-site customer background check process
  • Assist employees in enrolling in benefits, import and export benefit data to carriers, and process change of life events
  • Shadow and support the leave of absence, ADA accommodations, and workers compensation processes
  • Wellness Program tasks, including events, reimbursements, and developing well-being content in coordination with DEI initiatives  
  • Perform quality checks and audits of benefits and payroll related data
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies and procedures that support accurate and timely multi-state payroll processing
  • Participate in system implementations along with identifying, analyzing, and improving business processes within our department for optimization or standards of quality
  • Successfully navigate and maintain data in our HRIS systems (Workday, UltiPro, E-Verify, HireRight, and others)
  • Partner on projects, continuous improvement activities and assignments within the HR function

What We are Looking For:

  • High School Diploma and college coursework in progress
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office, and ability to pick up technology quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, communicating clearly and concisely
  • Proactive attitude that focuses on creating ideas and plans for correcting issues or handling daily tasks
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • HR Information System experience (i.e.: Workday, Payroll & timekeeping systems)
  • Possess a process improvement mindset
  • Desire to learn and share new information; generate new ideas
