Entry Laboratory Analyst - Mold & Asbestos

As an Environmental Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and analysis of environmental samples in accordance with scientific methodologies and company quality standards. This entry-level position requires a solid understanding of routine and complex analyses, adherence to SOPs, and compliance with Quality Assurance programs. You will be responsible for validating, reviewing, and accurately entering analytical data into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to generate reports for clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze environmental samples following established procedures.
  • Enter and report analytical data accurately using the LIMS.
  • Independently review data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform analysis of reference materials and quality control samples as required.
  • Maintain client satisfaction and provide technical support when needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Quality Assurance processes.
  • Confirm lab results as requested by client services personnel.
  • Participate in obtaining and maintaining laboratory accreditations.
  • Manage project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide support to colleagues on analytical questions and procedures.
  • Contribute to Lean initiatives and projects as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage inventory and reorder laboratory supplies as needed.
  • Dispose of analyzed samples according to regulations.
  • Train new analysts as required.
  • Coordinate sample transfers as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain laboratory stock culture and reference samples.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and coordinate servicing as required.
  • Communicate available capacity to senior management regularly.
  • Support other departments within the lab as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
