The Stewardship and Donor Relations intern will be an integral part of the stewardship and donor relations team, helping to support all areas the team is responsible for, including donor recognition and acknowledgement, donor and member programs and events, the donor travel program, project management of Cleveland Art members magazine, affinity and affiliate groups, and more.
Tasks that may be conducted:
- Assist with donor acknowledgement and recognition
- Assist with planning and implementation for donor and member programs and events
- Administrative support for affinity and affiliate groups
- Assist with donor travel program
- Provide general support to the stewardship team
During the internship, the candidate will:
- Plan member and supporter programs and events / prepare event materials
- Assist with departmental mailings
- Assist with project management for Cleveland Art
- Assist with affiliate group membership renewals
By completing the internship, the candidate will:
- Understand how a nonprofit stewardship team operates – workflow, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Develop stronger skills in professional relationship building – with a focus in donor relations and stewardship
- Practice communication, organization, and event planning
- Learn to use Tessitura and other software for planning and managing events
Cohort Building at the Cleveland Museum of Art
The summer internship program at the Cleveland Museum of Art offers wholistic professional experiences that provide students opportunities to develop as both professionals and well-rounded individuals. As such, interns at the Cleveland Museum of Art will participate in the Summer on the Cuyahoga Pick 10 program, which offers access to a variety of events throughout Cleveland that give students opportunities to meet and socialize with other interns outside of the museum.
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, applicant must:
- Be a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree. You must be a Junior or Senior as of January 2024.
- Reside or attend college within Cleveland or the boundary established by the Inner Ring Suburbs.
- Have an Expected Family Contribution of less than $6,250
Additional Requirements and Application Materials
- Interest in the arts a plus
- Previous work experience in nonprofits a plus
- Need to be familiar with Microsoft Word / Excel
