Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Neuroscience ICU

Work Schedule: 

100% FTE, mainly day hours with rotating night and weekends (10-12 hour shifts). Includes additional compensation for night and weekend hours. External hires may be eligible for up to $10,000 sign-on bonus. 

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to:

  • Provide care to adults with serious neurologic illness in our Neuroscience ICU and Progressive Care Units.
  • Collaborate with faculty, residents, fellows, surgeons, and nursing staff to provide on-going patient care and management.
  • Partner with larger team including Neurosurgery, Neurocritical Care and Neurology to provide medical and perioperative care during critical illness.
  • Perform routine clinical procedures independently as outlined in practice agreements/scope of practice.

Education:

Minimum –

If Nurse Practitioner:

Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.

If Physician Assistant:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure

If Nurse Practitioner*:

  • Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
  • Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Acute Care only (Adult or Adult/Gerontology will be considered only if previous ICU experience).

If Physician Assistant*:

  • Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
  • Active PA board certification

All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.

*Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of practice. This may include licensing in Wisconsin and other state(s) of practice.
