The Program

 

Mallinckrodt is offering an 11-week internship program, which provides an immersive experience in the world of pharmaceuticals. As an MNK Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful and impactful work that compliments the degree you are pursuing. Here, you will be able to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to a corporate environment. In addition, our internship program is designed to include networking opportunities across the company, professional development workshops, and community service.

Summary of Position

 

The Human Resources Intern will join our dynamic Human Resources team and play a vital role in supporting the department's daily operations. This entry-level position will provide valuable hands-on experience and an opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of HR functions. As an HR intern, you will be involved in various aspects of HR, assisting with job descriptions, new hire orientation, recruitment, and employee records.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the HR team in the execution of recruitment and selection processes, including posting job vacancies, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in coordinating onboarding and orientation activities for new hires, facilitating an efficient and positive experience for employees during their integration into the organization.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and events, helping to foster a positive company culture.
  • Support the performance management process by assisting with the preparation of performance appraisal materials and tracking performance evaluation timelines for the hourly staff.
  • Assist with employee training and development initiatives, including scheduling training sessions, organizing training materials, and tracking employee participation.
  • Stay up to date with HR laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance with labor laws and drive continuous improvement in HR processes.
  • Provide administrative support in various HR functions, such as preparing HR documents, drafting internal communications, and ad hoc duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a career in HR, demonstrated through coursework, previous internship experience, or relevant HR-related activities.
  • Knowledge of labor laws and regulations is preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and tactfully with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy in administrative tasks.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office Suite, HRIS, or other HR software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality, establish rapport with employees, and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic understanding of HR principles and practices, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.

 

Relationship with Others/Scope of Position

  • This position will report to the Human Resources Plant Manager.
  • This position interacts with employees at all levels in Manufacturing.
  • The primary environment is an office setting.  However, some interaction may occur in manufacturing areas of the site.
  • Must be able wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as deemed necessary by EHS.
