Guest Services Supervisor

This is a seasonal summer job that is from May to September.  Great opportunity for students looking for hospitality or business management experience for school.

The Guest Services Supervisor is responsible for inspiring, developing, and motivating the guest services team, driving sales, driving rentals, slip sales, cash management and inventory management, and setting world class customer service standards. The purpose of this role is to help the front-line operations of multiple service marina including fuel dock, pump out, and arriving/departing boats. The Guest Services Supervisor complies with all company policies, procedures, and legal compliance. The Guest Services Supervisor inspires the team to work together, create an atmosphere of fun, while exceeding our customer’s expectations.
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with directing the Guest Services team operations under the supervisor of the General Manager or the Guest Services Manager, ensuring the team provides world class customer service.
2. Facilitate training for the Guest Services team so they can successfully promote sales, rentals and understand the Suntex Marinas expectation for world class customer service.
3. Ensures marina customers are satified with services provided.
4. Achieve and exceed budgeted store revenue while controlling expenses
5. Create retail, boat rental, and slip sales programs
6. Dock walks as needed to ensure everything is running smoothly
7. Ensure that our rental fleet and water sports equipment are clean, in perfect working order, giving our guests the best experience on the water
8. Assist with the hiring and manage the Guest Services team to assist in driving top line sales, while also controlling expenses
9. Daily/weekly ordering of soft and hard line merchandise for the location
10. Creates and drives sales promotions to assist in achieving sales revenue
11. Comes up with creative ways to market the store and boat rental
a. Vendor events, showcasing new products, demonstrating new products, interactive displays
12. Creates fun sales contests for Guest Services team
13. Keeps up to date on all marine products to supply the most accurate information to our customers
a. Rotate inventory monthly
14. Complete all paperwork in a timely fashion
a. Receive all invoices before merchandise is put out on the floor
15. Ensures that the store is neat, clean, and organized at all times
a. Everything is priced in the store
16. Completes and submits a full physical inventory every quarter, with department cycle counts per month.
17. Completes opening and closing procedures.
18. Other duties as assigned by management
 

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for use of judgment; and compliance with policies and procedures. Must be both a team player and self-starter.
Requires excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
2. Excellent interpersonal and outstanding communication skills;
3. Very organized and detail oriented;
4. Must have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and have great sales skills
5. Ability work independently to achieve goals and targets;
6. Ability to organize and prioritize work;
7. Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and corporate goals;
8. Must thrive in a fast paced environment;
9. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers;
10. Self-starter;
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office products
 

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to fifteen (15) pounds
2. Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency
3. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
4. Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
5. Must be able to operate general computer equipment including laptop, keyboard, and mouse with ease
6. Must be able to utilize a phone, both desk and mobile, with ease
7. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk setting
8. Must be able to use eyes for the purpose of viewing computer monitors and analyze data for extended periods of time.
9. Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
10. Must be able to climb stairs, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat)
11. Primary office setting is at the marina location in an office environment, seated at a desk
