Sales and Marketing Intern

Position Overview:

TechSmith’s Sales and Marketing Intern programs support the Revenue Organization at TechSmith. Within the Revenue Organization are Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations. Sales and Marketing interns will have the opportunity to work with multiple focus areas such as Marketing Generalist, Marketing Content, Direct Marketing, Social Media, Sales Development, or Revenue Operations.

We are currently looking for interns for the Summer and Fall semesters, with the option to extend beyond for additional semesters.   

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s priority customer missions and leading products
  • Learn to use and understand the key concepts of the TechSmith software
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and support the creation process of sales and marketing deliverables
  • Support key marketing functions such as web, social, SEO, blog, campaigns, digital marketing, and more
  • Support our international business efforts across various languages and platforms.
  • Research market best practices, insights, and industry trends and learn data analytics as related to revenue generation.
  • Assist with sales enablement on product launches and regular updates to the sales playbook and sales enablement library as well as interacting with sales prospects to warm them up as leads for our Sales team. 
  • Use backend content management systems to update existing programs, measure effectiveness, and other administration involved in programs
  • Work on special projects, researching deeper into our customer databases, and measuring the impact of the Revenue Organization efforts
  • Generate documentation, reports, and presentations to highlight sales and marketing activities and reference materials for future efforts.
  • Interact with TechSmith customers and partners as part of Sales development, Social media, and partner support activities while providing high levels of customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Background:

  • Strong knowledge of all MS Office programs
  • Must be resourceful, customer-focused, and able to work on a team 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and listening skills 
  • Good organizational skills and capability to multi-task 
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail 
  • Self-motivated, independent worker who is reliable and communicative 
  • Dependable employee with minimum of six months previous sales, marketing, customer service, retail, or other related work experience 
  • Strong critical thinking skills 
  • Strong relationship builder with key stakeholders - other team members, leadership and other colleagues
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the United States 
  • You must be enrolled for at least 6 credits (undergrad) or 3 credits (grad) for Fall and/or Spring semesters to be considered for an internship with TechSmith Corporation. Summer class enrollment is not required. 
  • Requires at least 12 hours minimum - 18 hours maximum per week year round

Preferred Skills and Background:

  • Experience with HTML 
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Experience with MS PowerBI or MS SharePoint
  • Experience with Data Analytics tools
  • Additional languages or multi-cultural experience
  • Ability to work from our East Lansing, MI headquarters at each Wednesday based off of team preference.

Compensation and Benefits: 

Competitive pay based on skills and experience. This is an hourly position with TechSmith Corporation. Hours are based on a consensus between you and your supervisor. We require a minimum of 12 hours per week; however, hours are limited to 18 hours per week.
