Corporate Planning Intern

Position Overview:

Work under the direction of Corporate Planning staff to assist in all aspects of Planning Processes. Collaboration with other department functions will be necessary to complete projects requiring cross-functional input and teamwork. Internship focuses on tactical and strategic execution of Supply Chain Planning strategy plans. Includes experience in Demand & Supply Planning, Supplier Management & Inventory Optimization processes and procedures. Responsible to develop the most accurate Forecast to deliver an effective Supply Plan to Manufacturing in order to maintain the required service levels to our customers. Key point for internship is developing partner relationships with supply base and ODL teams. Expect real life experience that will end up on your resume!

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists in the development and execution of strategic planning initiatives.
  • Participates in Demand and Supply Planning meetings that drives tactical and strategic business decisions.
  • Develop analytics around Customer demand behaviors to increase Company’s service levels.
  • Measure, analyze and report key process metrics and monitor adherence to key performance indicators.
  • Develop, monitor and communicate reports on forecast accuracy to business unit and supply chain organizations, while driving continuous improvement.
  • Assist designing and implementing an inventory tracking system to increase visibility by product segment.
  • Assist on activities for component management to ensure there is enough supply in the pipeline to support Manufacturing Supply Plans.
  • Involvement on international sea-container tracking – collaboration with Freight service providers and corporate planning to secure on time deliveries to ODL manufacturing plants.
  • Documentation of Inventory policies, processes and procedures in alignment to company’s strategics and initiatives.
  • Develop Inventory Optimization recommendations to increase Company’s cash flow.
  • Support required activities to drive activities for Master Data integrity and planning parameter standardization across the organization.
  • Support activities to mature End of Life and New Product Introduction activities for successful cost management.

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor of Supply Chain Management degree from an accredited university. Supply Chain Planning and Strategy course work is preferred. Practical level of knowledge regarding Supply Chain concepts, practices, and procedures. Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and social media platforms.
  • Experience and knowledge in ERP systems and how they apply to the Supply Chain Management and Operations functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written format with team members and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently in a professional environment. Demonstrated organizational skills in order to establish priorities, identify and set goals, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to balance and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work on assignments that are broad in nature, involving a high degree of originality and ingenuity.
  • Willingness to learn and have the flexibility required in an ever-changing environment.
