Nonprofit Leadership Intern

IKUS Life Enrichment Services is a dedicated organization committed to creating inclusive and empowering experiences for individuals with disabilities. Our programs aim to provide a supportive and joyful environment where individuals can explore new activities, build friendships, and develop essential life skills.

Internship Overview:
As a Nonprofit Leadership Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the overall operations and administration of our summer camp for individuals with disabilities. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in nonprofit management, program coordination, and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

  1. Camp Program Support:
    * Assist Programming Lead in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of camp activities.
    * Provide breaks for the camp staff to ensure work life balance
    * Provide support for the Camp Director in administrative needs
     
  2. Community Engagement:
    * Support the Executive Director and Events Coordinator on community and fundraising special events. 
     
  3. Administrative Duties:
    * Assist in the management of camper registrations, paperwork, and medical information.
    * Offer administrative assistance to the Executive Director
     
  4. Inclusive Leadership:
    * Foster a culture of inclusivity and respect within the camp community.
    * Work closely with camp counselors to create an accessible and supportive environment.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for serving individuals with disabilities and creating inclusive communities.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic understanding of nonprofit operations and administration.
