Payroll/Accountant

Job Qualifications:

  1. Associate degree in Accounting required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of three years’ work experience, payroll experience preferred.
  3. Understanding and knowledge of auditing, budgeting, and analysis. 
  4. Ability to understand and demonstrate competency with a comprehensive computer system as well as effectively utilize Microsoft applications.
  5. Effective communication skills.
  6. Effective personal organization.
  7. Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  8. Exceptional analytical skills and leadership ability.
  9. Ability to work long periods of time on the preparation of detailed, analytical information.
  10. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, as well as to organize fiscal-related data as requested by administrative personnel.
  11. Ability to work in collaboration with others.
  12. Ability to handle confidential information and follow privacy requirements.
  13. Positive attitude and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with staff, peers, area school personnel and other agencies.
  14. Ability to adapt to new procedures and computer systems as necessary.
  15. Courteous and professional.

 

Evaluation:  

Performance will be evaluated by the Director of Finance every other year.

 

General Responsibilities:

1. Payroll and corresponding taxes.

2.    Direct deposit of payroll.

3.    Local, state, and federal reporting.

4.    Maintenance of personnel information.

5.    ORS reporting.

6.    Remain current on rules and regulations relating to 403B/457 and flexible spending accounts.  

7. Annual audit preparation.

8. Retrieve and compile other financial information from the general 

ledger as requested.

9. Make line item changes, enter purchase orders, prepare and enter 

accounts payable, and accounts receivable, and maintain a filing system.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.
