Food and Beverage Internship - Level 1

Shoreacres is a private golf club located in Lake Bluff, Illinois, just a short drive north of Chicago. Founded in 1916, Shoreacres has been consistently ranked in publications as one of the premier golf clubs in the country. Members enjoy the peaceful and tranquil nature of the club as well as above-and-beyond service from all staff. Shoreacres is also ranked number 45 out of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses by Golf Digest Magazine. 

 

Our facility includes an 18-hole golf course designed by Seth Raynor, driving range, tennis courts, trap shooting, and various dining outlets. Shoreacres holds a multitude of large-scale events such as the Lurie Children’s Hospital Dinner on the Bluff, Stanley Field Day, Sara Carroll Field Day, Sunday BBQs, Private Weddings, and our 4th of July Celebration which includes our very own fireworks display. 

Details:

The Food & Beverage Internship provides interns with training in all areas of the Club’s food and beverage program. Interns will spend time in the Club’s a la carte, banquet and beverage departments as well as in the Club’s seasonal food and beverage operations. Interns are fully immersed in the day-to-day operations of the Club and will receive a well-rounded overview of a highly successful food and beverage operation. Interns will also be exposed to Grounds & Greens, Golf, and Back of House operations.   

Ideal Candidates:  

College students pursuing Hospitality or Private Club Management with little to no experience. Candidates need to be able to work varied hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with potential overtime.  Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs. without restriction, withstand long periods of walking/ being on their feet, close quarters, and varied temperatures.
