Worship Director (Full Time)

Worship Director

New Hope Community Church

Summary: Serve in oversight of worship ministries at New Hope Community Church

Primary Objective: Lead the congregation into an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ by creating an inviting worship experience in our corporate gatherings

Qualifications

  • Acknowledge Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior, and demonstrate personal maturity and godliness, growing in conformity to the image of Christ
  • Be, or be willing to become, a member of New Hope Community Church
  • Have strong platform leadership skills with demonstrated vocal and instrumental musical proficiency
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree with three years of experience in worship ministry preferred
  • Be able to provide theological leadership to the planning and leading of worship
  • Exhibit love and passion for worshiping God, as well as a desire to encourage others to participate

Responsibilities

  • In coordination with the Senior Pastor and worship teams, plan, organize, and implement the Sunday morning worship experience
  • Implement intentional strategies to encourage spiritual development and growth in music team volunteers
  • Interview and train new worship team members
  • Utilize Planning Center for scheduling of worship team members and service planning
  • Set up for and lead worship rehearsals, including preparing slides and worship music notebooks
  • Oversee lighting, sound, visuals and livestream for Sunday morning services
  • Keep website service archive updated each week
  • Develop the annual worship ministry budget and manage spending
  • Cultivate other leaders to organize and lead worship eight times a year
  • Oversee special services and worship events, along with all stage decorations
  • Introduce new music in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and coordinate CCLI licensing procedures and reporting
  • Collaborate with other leaders to utilize creative elements in worship experiences
  • Continually improve skills through participation in professional development activities
  • Be available to assist or recruit volunteers to assist with tech needs for special events
  • Coordinate guest speaker’s needs for technical support and slides as well as blending the theme of the service with their sermon topic when possible 

Requirements

  • Attend to one’s own spiritual growth through regular Bible study, prayer, church attendance, and involvement in a small group
  • Attend required meetings and other gatherings, as appropriate

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Coordinates with: Church staff members and leaders in all ministry areas

Status: full-time, exempt
