The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is recruiting for Substitute/Limited Term Food Services Field Assistant for the Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS) Program. The Food Services Field Assistant will deliver and distribute meals to assigned school sites, serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks to students, and maintain food safety and sanitation standards. The Assistant will also maintain records related to meal count and food inventory, as well as provide information about the Food Services Program to parents. staff, and other agencies.

This position requires a valid Food Handlers Card issued by the San Diego County Department of Health, and one year of experience performing food service and related clerical duties. Previous school food service experience strongly preferred.

This position will be involved in food preparation and general cleaning and upkeep of the kitchen.

It is important to note to become a substitute/limited-term employee, there will be a fingerprinting requirement that currently costs $77 (this is an up-front, out-of-pocket cost that must be paid in the form of a money order or cashier’s check). In addition, if you apply and are selected for a permanent position at any point there would be an additional $77 cost (currently) for fingerprinting as a permanent employee (taken out of your first regular paycheck).
