Job Summary

THIS POSTING IS FOR SUBSTITUTE AND/OR LIMITED-TERM POSITIONS. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Requirements / Qualifications

The San Diego County Office of Education is looking to add to its Administrative level clerical substitute pool. Depending on your experience and training, your application may allow you to be eligible to substitute in the following positions:

  • Administrative Assistant I (G44, $26.16/hr)- Typical qualifying background: Two years of administrative assistant or secretarial support experience demonstrating the knowledge and abilities listed on the job description. Coursework in advanced secretarial, communications, business or a related field is desirable.
  • School Administrative Assistant I (G44, $26.16/hr)- Typical qualifying background: Two years of progressively responsible office/secretarial experience demonstrating the knowledge and abilities listed on the job description. In addition, formal training in secretarial procedures and skills is highly desirable.
  • Administrative Assistant II (G48, $28.87/hr)- Typical qualifying background: graduation from high school and three years of administrative assistant or secretarial support experience. Coursework in advanced secretarial, communications, business or a related field is desirable

Work experience involving using computers for recordkeeping or word processing is required.

Candidates passing initial screening will be invited to participate in a written and/or performance examination.

It is important to note to become a substitute/limited-term employee, there will be a fingerprinting requirement that currently costs $77 (this is an up-front, out-of-pocket cost that must be paid in the form of a money order or cashier’s check). In addition, if you apply and are selected for a permanent position at any point there would be an additional $77 cost (currently) for fingerprinting as a permanent employee (taken out of your first regular paycheck).
