Position: 

High School/Middle School Industrial Technology Teacher

The Role:

Qualifications:

  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Industrial Technology (IX or TE) 

-or-

  • Possess or be able to obtain a Standard CTE Certification or Professional CTE Certification with the corresponding CIP code for Industrial Technology
  • Equally passionate about content area and educating high school/middle school students
  • Have knowledge/experience of secondary curriculum and effective instructional practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver course instruction for high school students and/or middle school students
  • Collaborate to design learning units that connect to multiple disciplines or real-world issues
  • Align curriculum and instruction with the mission of the school and current Michigan standards
  • Creates a student-centered learning environment
  • Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction
  • Develops lesson plans and instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
  • Communicate with parents/guardians to discuss student’s progress
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day
  • Participate in school improvement and professional activities
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal

Salary and Benefits:  According to the CLK Master Contract

Start Date:  Begining of the 2024-25 school year, usually end of August
