Project Engineer

As the Project Engineer you will be responsible for specific product lines of high-power microwave amplifiers known as traveling wave tubes (TWTs). This responsibility extends from design and development through the product life cycle.  For new products, the incumbent will ensure the project follows the established design develop process, perform the required design efforts, and properly document each stage in the process. They will use state-of-the-art design codes and methods to ensure a well-designed, robust, and reliable product is being transitioned to production. For TWTs in production, the incumbent will work in multi-disciplinary teams to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions, including any necessary design changes, to maintain high yield and production throughput. 

 

Requirements:

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
  • Knowledge of HFSS, MAXWELL, and/or CST. Programming with Python or similar tool is a plus.
  • Microwave electronics
  • Power electronics
  • High vacuum processing and product design
  • High voltage practices and techniques
  • Microscopes/Automated inspection equipment

Education and/or Experience                                           

Master's degree (M.S.) from an accredited college or university in engineering, electrical preferred, or physics and 0-2 years of directly related experience, or a bachelor's degree (B.S.) and 2-5  years of directly related experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be accepted.

Other Qualifications

  • US Citizenship
  • Active government security clearance or the ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
  • Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately 10%.
