Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer for Teledyne you will have two primary responsibilities. The first is to assist the engineering team to develop rapid and rigorous root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure high production yields in the manufacturing of Traveling Wave Tubes (TWT) and related components. Assistance will take the form of data review and analysis, simulation and modeling, and development of engineering tests to ensure the root cause was correctly identified and corrective action is effective and lasting. The other primary responsibility is to work with the electrical engineering design team, providing mechanical analysis and design input in the development of improved components and new products.

 

Requirements:

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Ansys Mechanical Desktop, Python computer language
  • Microwave or power electronics
  • Braze methods and fixture design
  • Resistance spot welding/ TIG/ Laser welding
  • Microscopes/Automated inspection equipment
  • High vacuum processing and product design
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, including GD&T requirements and application.
  • Ability to perform 3D modeling. Experience with AutoDesk Inventor or Dassault Solidworks is preferred.

 

Education and/or Experience:  

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Mechanical Engineering or Physics and 0-2 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Active government security clearance or the ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
