Financial Analyst Intern

WHO WE ARE:

Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental health of students, as well as reducing mass shootings, suicide, and depression. Resilience, Inc. also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues.   

 

Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through 5 core topics: self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting & effective decision-making. We also provide tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, social beings, and overall well-being.  

 

Our mission is to teach SEL tools at every school in the country. Resilience offers unpaid internship programs that require at least a 4-month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week and team meetings weekly. Availability must also allow for as-needed meetings/phone calls. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement. 

 

As a Finance Intern at Resilience, you will work on grants and outreach. Help promote the social-emotional curriculum through collaborating with the Outreach department. Work closely with other team members to help promote Resilience, research, and gain funding for our goal of increasing the presence of social-emotional learning in schools.

 

Daily Expectation

  • Coordinate with the marketing department to work to develop the project.
  • Conduct initial research on potential investments.
  • Conduct initial long-term asset strategy analysis.
  • Be familiar with our core topics, including self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, decision-making, and goal-setting.

 

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, real estate, economics, or business with a finance/accounting concentration.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint; advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Work independently.
  • Ability to work on a team and attend weekly remote meetings.
  • Be punctual, reliable, and pay attention to details.
  • Consistently communicate with team members.
  • Process eagerness to learn and an open mind to improve critical skills.
  • Receptive to improve problems and solving skills.
  • Minimum of 5-10 hours per week, with flexibility during exams week.

 

Learning Outcome

  • Demonstrating your understanding of financial analysis, marketing research, and related skills.
  • Gain experience collaborating with the Marketing department.
  • Learn how to use tools to complete financial projects.
