Network Associate

The Network Associate (Intern) position works as part of the network team to efficiently deploy and manage the network infrastructure for Synergy Fiber. This position offers plenty of travel opportunities which will include extended stays.  

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Interface directly with project team to provide detailed system design and capabilities information, report project progress via formal and informal channels, provide networking expertise to project team
  • On-prem circuit turn-ups
  • Coordinate installation/upgrades of equipment at locations.
  • Assist with wireless design and post implementation surveys and reviews
  • Replace equipment, patch in cabling as needed.
  • Must be willing to serve as “remote hands” for equipment configuration
  • Assist in updating documentation
  • Troubleshoot and remedy enterprise network problems
  • Perform site-walks to assist in sales opportunities
  • Racking and installation of equipment
  • Low voltage troubleshooting and repair (Testing, toning, termination for twisted pair and may include fiber)
  • Travel required up to 75% of time
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Other Responsibilities 

Provide Concierge Level Customer Technical Support  

  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
  • Provide quality Technical Support and Customer Service to all customers through multiple channels (Phone, E-Mail, Text, etc.).
  • On-call technical support of Synergy Fiber products and services on a rotating basis

Requirements 

  • General networking experience including LAN, WAN, and WiFi
  • General knowledge of low voltage standards and troubleshooting
  • Ability to mount and install network or related equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Knowledge of IP networks and network protocols
  • High school diploma or GED and pursuing a relevant degree/training
