Project Manager

Job Summary:

Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental health of students, as well as reducing mass shootings, suicide, and depression. Resilience, Inc also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues. 

  

Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through five core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting, and effective decision-making. Resilience, Inc. also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, and overall well-being.

Resilience offers unpaid internship programs that require at least a 4 month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement

 

Although this is an unpaid internship, there is the opportunity to earn school credit. Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

 

As a Project Manager Intern supports the project management team in planning, executing, and closing projects. This role involves assisting with project coordination, maintaining timelines, and facilitating communication among team members. Interns in this position may contribute to project documentation, track progress, and help identify and resolve issues that arise during project implementation. This internship provides valuable exposure to project management methodologies, tools, and the dynamics of working in a team-oriented environment. It offers an opportunity for hands-on learning in organizing tasks, managing resources, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

 

Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Project Planning:
    • Assist in the development of project plans, timelines, and milestones.
    • Collaborate with team members to gather project requirements and specifications.
  • Coordination and Communication:
    • Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, ensuring everyone is informed and aligned.
    • Schedule and organize meetings, documenting key decisions and action items.
  • Task Execution:
    • Support project managers in executing project tasks and ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Contribute to problem-solving and decision-making processes during project execution.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
    • Assist in the preparation of project status updates for various stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Collaborate with team members to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards.
    • Perform regular checks to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Business, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software is a plus.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
