Ultrasound Technologist

What you will do:

  • PRN for weekend on call.
  • Perform two dimensional (2-D) ultrasonic recordings of internal organs.
  • Participates in CQI activities.
  • Handle equipment safely 

Responsibilities:

  • Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Programs ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of examinations.
  • Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining basic records and reports.
  • Assists in maintaining files.
  •  Completes all work before clocking out and leaving.  This includes checking with nurses’ stations.
  • Takes ultrasound calls according to weekend schedule.

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduation from an AMA approved school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Certified by the State of North Dakota to practice and administer ultrasound.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • One (1) year of experience under a Board-Certified Radiologist preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Duties as assigned.
