IT Intern

Job Description:

TreeHouse Foods is looking for qualified IT interns to assist in various areas of IT applications for the summer of 2024. The intern will complete all tasks assigned by their manager, which may include assisting in analyzing basic business problems to be solved with automated systems; assisting in the configuration of system settings and options; executing unit, integration, and acceptance testing; and assisting in creating specifications for systems to meet business requirements. You’ll gain hands-on experience working on challenging, meaningful projects with guidance from a mentor and other members of our team.

The IT Summer Internships will be based in our Oak Brook, IL Office.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Business Process: Learn existing business process and system solutions. Work with IT partners across adjacent processes to understand key linkages across the TreeHouse Foods IT Ecosystem.
  • Functional Analysis: Understand functional requirements. Collaborate in the root cause analysis of incidents.
  • Functional Design: Contribute to the design of functional solutions. Assist in document design using functional specifications. Collaborate with IT partners to ensure that functional designs are appropriately translated into technical designs.
  • Construct / Implement: Execute functional unit, scenario and integration test plans and scenarios. 
  • Incident / Problem Management: Assist in conducting effective investigation, diagnosis, and root cause analysis of incidents / problems. Develop, implement and document solutions in a timely manner and validate with system users that service has been restored.

Experience an intern will gain:

  • An understanding of ERP systems, primarily SAP Finance and Costing modules
  • Opportunities to participate in building solutions to help the business solve problems while establishing relationships with peers and leaders, learning fundamentals, and receiving feedback from your internship manager.
  • Regular interface with IT leadership through ‘Lessons from Leaders’ sessions

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 2 - 3 years of progress towards a bachelor’s degree in information technology or closely related major.
  • Overall and within major GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Demonstrated interest in information technology through course work or previous internships.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP applications.
  • Ability to effectively interact with senior management.
  • Ability to apply basic problem-solving techniques to identify and define problems.
