Canola Breeding Associate - 6 month internship

As an InVigor Canola Breeding Associate, you will join the BASF team and be engaged in field research trials for the industry’s leading Canola breeding program. You will be a vital part of our research goal to develop hybrids that provide the highest return to growers. You will be responsible for field activities related to hybrid cultivar development and commercialization from seeding to harvest. This includes plot seed layout, land preparation, seeding, pest control, plot maintenance, harvesting and supervision of temporary employees as needed. You will also be involved in crop health diagnosis through daily monitoring of field research plots and data collection. This is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to one of the world’s top Agricultural Research companies - this location’s former interns are now full time BASF employees. 
 
There is currently no lodging allowances for this position. Canola Breeding Associates are responsible for finding and providing their own lodging and living expenses.

Qualifications:
• Interest in agricultural research and Canola breeding.
• Desire to work as part of an applied science team to accomplish goals & manage challenges.
• Curiosity and ability to learn – agriculture experience valuable but not required – training is
  provided.
