Camp Lohikan Music and Rock Band Instructor

Camp Lohikan is a premier summer camp nestled in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. With over 65 years of experience, we offer a diverse and exciting program for campers aged 6 to 15. Our goal is to create unforgettable summer experiences for campers while fostering personal growth, teamwork, and lasting friendships.

Camp Lohikan is seeking enthusiastic and passionate Music Instructors who are not only skilled educators but also have a flair for putting on rock band shows. As a Music and Rock Band Instructor, you will have the unique opportunity to inspire young campers to explore their musical talents and to organize and oversee unforgettable rock band performances during our summer camp sessions. You will also provide beginner through advanced level instruction in one of more of the following: guitar, bass, drums, piano or vocals.

Responsibilities:

Music Instruction:

  • Teach campers of various ages and skill levels in group and individual music lessons.
  • Instruct in a variety of musical instruments, including guitar, drums, keyboards, vocals, and more.
  • Develop lesson plans that are engaging and age-appropriate.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive environment for campers to learn and grow musically.

Rock Band Show Coordination:

  • Collaborate with campers to form rock bands, helping them select instruments and songs.
  • Rehearse and coach campers in their band performances.
  • Coordinate all logistical aspects of the shows, including equipment setup and sound production.

Camp Activities:

  • Participate in camp-wide activities and events.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive camp culture.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model for campers, promoting a sense of community.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching music and working with children or teenagers.
  • Proficiency in multiple musical instruments and genres, with a strong focus on rock and contemporary music is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to inspire campers in their musical endeavors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for music education and performance.
