Teacher, Emotional and Behavior Disorder (EBD) Self-Contain

LEVEL/POSITION: TEACHER

POSITION SUMMARY: To provide an educational atmosphere in which students will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth and maturation in accordance with District philosophy, goals and objectives. Reports to Principal or Assistant Principal at assigned location.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education – Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Certificates and/or Licenses – Eligible for Certification by the State of Florida.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Plan instruction and adaption of the general/special education curriculum to accommodate students in the learning process. Ability to team with other special and regular education teachers and support staff to meet the needs of emotional/behavioral students in the least restrictive environment. Knowledge and experience in the utilization of behavior management systems including conducting Functional Behavioral Assessment and designing Behavioral Intervention Plans. Background in the use of social skills training models and interest/attitude scales.
