Electrical Engineer - Full Time Entry Level - Memphis, TN

The position entails working with an experienced engineer to learn how to:
  • Analyze power distribution systems for large industrial consumers for short-circuit (arc flash) hazards, and breaker coordination studies using arc flash analysis software.
  • Select power equipment such as: starters, VFD’s, motor control centers, switchgear, substations, emergency generators, UPSs, grounding systems, and lighting systems.
  • Develop plan and single line drawings in AutoCAD. Model equipment in 3D.
  • Identify, document, and assess electrical equipment, capacity, and key electrical attributes.
  • Size feeder and conduit for a variety of loads.
  • Design emergency power, back-up power, and life-safety systems.
  • Research and interpret codes and standards.
  • Configure communications, data, and miscellaneous building systems including fire alarm, PA, intercom, telephone, data.
  • Perform field work and troubleshooting in a variety of facilities.
  • Start up and commission equipment.
  • Meet with clients, contractors, and colleagues throughout the design and construction process. Build and maintain long-term relationships.

This position provides an opportunity for periodic project-related travel and demands some flexibility toward the work schedule.
