Pathways Recent Graduate Railroad Retirement Service Compensation and Records Examiner

Specific responsibilities of a Pathways Recent Graduate Railroad Retirement Service, Compensation, and Records Examiner are:

  • Receive, examine, reconcile, and process annual and adjustment reports of service and compensation submitted by railroad employers.
  • Review and analyze individual employee service months and compensation data housed in the Agency's data system.
  • Formulate and submit accurate and timely reports in accordance with agency reporting regulations.
  • Examine and adjudicate discrepancies in regular and supplemental employee, spouse, and survivor records.
  • Verify and reconcile social security numbers (SSN) and record discrepancies (name, date of birth, etc.) via the Social Security Administration's (SSA) Numident system.
  • Review, analyze and adjudicate oral and written inquiries from employers, individuals, Congressional members, and other agencies on a variety of service and compensation matters.
