WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

- In collaboration with the Radiation Oncologist, our Dosimetrists are responsible for the accurate execution of treatment plans to our patients.
- Assist Medical Physicist in performing quality assurance of the treatment planning Franciscan Alliance to ensure all treatment plans meet the standard of care.
- Create and submit treatment plan billing documentation to ensure accurate billing of the patient.
- Create or assist in the planning and implementation of the production of molds, casts and other immobilization devices to ensure patient stays still during radiation.
- Design treatment plans to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and spare critical structures in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.
- Document all pertinent information in the patient medical record, including DRRs, CBCTs and other IGRT methods, to ensure the treatment plan is well documented.
- Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures to avoid damage to healthy organs at risk.
- Perform or aide in the planning and implementation of the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges and other beam modifying devices to reduce damage to organs at risk.
- Perform or assist in the simulation of patients using specified imaging devices to identify and locate tumors and to plan the arrangement of beams to deliver the radiation to the tumor, while minimizing damage to normal organs.
- Verify all calculations using approved methods to ensure an appropriate dose of radiation to the tumor and organs at risk.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years prior Medical Dosimetry experience with Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years prior Medical Dosimetry experience without degree.
- Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT-RRT) preferred
- Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) preferred
