About the position:
The Email Marketing Intern is responsible for designing, creating, and curating content primarily for email campaigns. This position leads initiatives that elevate email designs and content to increase engagement while also supporting the marketing team with other tasks as needed. They liaise and collaborate with all departments to support marketing efforts. 

While this position can be fully remote, we are looking for candidates to be residents of Illinois.

Essential Functions:
  • Oversee content strategies and implement them appropriately across email marketing initiatives  
  • Create new email campaigns and designs to meet daily user and applicant goals 
  • Work with Marketing Director to ensure email strategies are implemented and KPIs are met 
  • Create appropriate content based on email segmentation guides, audience targeting, and content strategies as directed by the Marketing Director and Senior Marketing Director 
  • Develop email marketing templates 
  • Monitor campaign performance and adjust campaign content  
  • Collaborate across AMO departments and partner organizations to create content that is educational and inspirational 
  • Write and design emails and newsletters that are creative and engaging 
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders when launching new campaigns, giveaways, or events, ensuring all parties are informed and have all necessary details 
  • Provide new ideas for content based on audience learning, engagement, and inquiries 
  • Respond in a timely manner, ensuring projects move along and stakeholders are updated 
  • Continue to develop market personas and the AMO brand voice, learning about our audiences and developing content that meets unique audience inquiries and demands  
  • Other tasks as assigned 

Skills:
  • A high level of written and oral communication skills 
  • Possess a strong work ethic 
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop or InDesign a huge plus 
  • Experience with email marketing software a plus 
  • Takes ownership, has ability to brainstorm solutions, and demonstrates consistent follow-through 
  • Understanding of healthcare and medical education terminology a plus 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook 
  • The ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects while working in a results-oriented environment and meeting deadlines 
  • Ability to work independently as well as the ability to collaborate across different departments 
  • Self-starter: ability to achieve goals without daily supervision 
  • Strong analytical skills

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or working towards bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or equivalent/related field 
  • Experience with all aspects of content development 
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and projects
