Project Manager 2 - Medicaid Project Management Office

The Division of Medicaid is currently seeking a Project Manager 2 to fulfill a strategic role as a member of the Project Management Office.

Our generous benefits package increases the total compensation of a full-time (benefits eligible) Project Manager 2 making $36.00/hour to an estimated $49.75/hour.

Example of Duties
  • These projects require the incumbent be skilled in project management, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing activities for Medicaid projects
  • Direct the development of project goals, work plans, timelines, evaluation methods, and implementation strategies
  • Direct the identification of decision-making methods, project partners, and key stakeholders
  • Ensure the smooth day-to-day running of projects to include ongoing risk identification and mitigation
  • Ensure clear communications throughout projects, to include maintaining regular contact with project stakeholders and sponsors
  • Direct the development and implementation of strategies to encourage and obtain stakeholder and/or community support
  • Manage the overall scope, schedule, progress, training and resources for each project
  • Ensure the effective timely delivery of projects as well as smooth transitions in operations
  • Facilitate the work of project team members
  • Ensure quality and high standards are maintained

  • Experience planning and implementing projects including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress towards goals and project outcomes
  • Experience interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public
  • Experience developing and monitoring contracts

Below are extra credit questions. They are not required, however, having the minimum qualifications and the education and/or experience below will increase your score. 

  1. Experience forming, facilitating, and coordinating cross functional groups of business and technical stakeholders for completing projects. Gained by at least two years’ experience where forming, facilitating, and coordinating cross functional groups of business and technical stakeholders were primary responsibilities. 
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  3. Proficient knowledge of medical service delivery systems and Medicaid. Gained by completion of at least two college classes in medical/health service field, public health or health care administration or related field and/or one year of experience applying that knowledge in a medical service delivery system (including but not limited to medical institution, clinic, medical office, Medicaid service provider, etc.) developing and promoting support for a service program.
