Job Summary:
Enterprise Risk Management is offering a summer internship that will assist with a wide variety of tasks associated with several facets of the business. The intern will gain valuable professional experience and as well as knowledge and skills in securities and banking industry. There will be potential opportunity in: Credit & Counterparty Risk, International Oversight, Cross Border, Product Risk, Financial Risk, Market Risk, Operational and Enterprise Risk among other areas of risk management. The ideal candidate is excited to work in a growing business and interested in learning about all aspects that go into risk management at Raymond James.
 
Under general supervision, uses skills gained through training and experience to assist with specific projects within an assigned functional area for a specified period of time. Follows established procedures to perform tasks and receives general guidance and direction to perform other work with substantial variety and varied complexity. Some judgment is required to adapt procedures, processes and techniques to apply to more complex assignments. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to a higher level. Routine contact with internal and external customers may be required to exchange basic information.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for special projects, reports, training and/or presentations to communicate program updates as needed.
  • Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Uses various reporting services to compile reports of client data.
  • Researches and analyzes industry information, interprets findings, and prepares various reports.

Knowledge of:
  • Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a professional office environment.
  • Fundamental investment concepts, practices and procedures used in the securities industry.
  • Base understanding of financial markets and products. 
  • Experience developing processes and procedures.
  • Basic concepts, principles and practices of an assigned business unit.
 Skill in:
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Operating standard office equipment and using, or have the ability to learn, required software applications.
  • Planning and scheduling work to meet regulatory organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing oral and/or written reports. 
  • Investigating issues and irregularities.
  • Making rule-based and analytical decisions.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
  • Junior or Senior standing at a four-year college or university in a related field and relevant internships/campus involvement.
  • OR any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
