Human Resources Specialist

The City of Wyoming is seeking innovative, critical thinkers for a human resources specialist position. The candidate selected for this position will have the opportunity to build relationships with staff throughout the city and an understanding of city operations by providing general and specific human resource support to city departments and staff. 

The human resources specialist coordinates programs and associated documents related to worker’s compensation, hiring and employment, family medical leave, tuition reimbursement, and insurance or retirement. Working cooperatively with departments and the HR team, the human resources specialist will draft and review job descriptions, conduct and complete wage and benefit surveys, assist with contract interpretation, establish priorities, and implement projects. The HR specialist is responsible ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining confidential and accurate personnel files, and compiling and analyzing data.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, communication, public administration, or business administration. Knowledge of and experience in a professional office setting is required. Candidates must have strong interpersonal communication, writing, and listening skills.
