Human Resource Assistant/Recruiter

The Human Resources Assistant at St. Ann’s Home exemplifies the vision, the mission, and the vibrancy of the organization and leads the delivery of exceptional support to employees and external candidates entering into the organization.
Essential Functions:
Day to Day operations: The primary purpose of this position is to assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources department and duties. The HR Assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: HRIS, employee relations, benefit administration, training and development and recruitment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
· Update current job postings for new and upcoming organizational recruitment needs
· Maintain job applications for personnel eligible to work in St. Ann’s
· Recruit and select competent personnel in accordance with established hiring practices
· Check applications and references of prospective employees, perform interviews and arrange department director interviews as required
· Complete pre-employment paperwork as required
· Run background screenings on prospective applicants and volunteers
· Present and coordinate new hire orientations
· Maintain current employee I-9 information
· Maintain adequate personnel record filing system that meets the needs of St. Ann’s and complies with current employment practices
· Enter new employee information into database and create new employee files
· Process employee evaluations
· Complete employee verifications
· Complete employee coaching’s for supervisors
· Back up for Scheduler
· Assist in coordination of employee meetings, appreciation weeks and various organizational events
· Complete projects as assigned by the HR Director
· Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent employee information in accordance with the privacy act, as well as our facilities established policies governing the release of information
· Agree not to disclose assigned user ID code and password for accessing resident/facility information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator
· Agree not to disclose resident’s protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Administrator.
· Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempt to access facility’s information system
· Other related duties that may become necessary/appropriate to assure that our facility is in compliance with current laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning the operation of our facility
Education and Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Human Resources required
· One to two years of general business experience
· At least one year of recruitment experience in high volume recruiting and or nurse recruitment
· Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Paycor and in a Microsoft Windows environment.
· Effective oral and written communication skills.
· General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
· Experience in administration scheduling programs
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Skills in database management and record keeping.
· Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
· Must be able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
· Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
· Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to interact, with a diverse group of associates, residents and family members.
· Ability to apply reason, logic, and advanced problem solving skills to resolve complex and/or sensitive issues.
· Excellent written communication skills including proper grammar and professional writing.

Physical Environment:
· Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
· Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
· Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
· Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within St. Ann’s Home.
· Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
· May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
