HandsOn VISTA - S.W. Human Development

Join Southwest Human Development (SWHD) to help strengthen childhood education and reading in high need communities! At SWHD you will build out systems and materials to improve and expand Little Free Libraries in underserved neighborhoods by engaging volunteers and designing processes to make the project sustainable. The future member should be self motivating, have strong initiative, and care about equity in reading, amongst youth in particular. You’ll have the chance to learn about reading and education inequality across the valley and learn about community organizations and programs seeking to address these issues. The first five years of life are the most critical in a child’s development; at SWHD you have the chance to impact the lives of young children during this important time. Are you ready to share your enthusiasm to rally volunteers and the community, and your passion for long-term sustainability? Join us and learn how you can leave a legacy of learning.
