Development and Marketing - Events Internship

Qualification Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Events Management, Non-Profit Management, Business Management, or a similar field
  • High attention to detail proven through accuracy
  • Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Product Suite
  • Well-developed writing and editing skills
  • Highly organized and efficient
  • Able to interact and communicate positively and reasonably with co-workers, volunteers, and donors
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible hours, working occasional nights and weekends as needed


Responsibilities

  • Assist with Paws, Claws & Corks event planning efforts including:
  • - Contacting existing and prospective sponsors
  • - Solicitation of in-kind goods and services
  • - Recruitment of participants and advertising
  • - Assist with organizing logistics for the event
  • - Pick up auction items from sponsors and partners
  • - Crafting auction item descriptions
  • - Must be able to assist with set up, event implementation, and tear down at Paws, Claws & Corks on Wednesday, March 15, 2023
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development and Marketing and/or Events Coordinator to meet the needs of the organization

Work Environment
  • May be exposed to unpleasant noises, odor and animal feces
  • May be exposed to bites, scratches, and zoonotic diseases
 
Physical Demands                                                                                                                                                                     
  • Work requires lifting and carrying items & animals that weigh up to 40 pounds. Will be assisted by other staff members with items & animals weighing over 40 pounds
  • Will be required to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Will frequently work in a bent position
