Volunteer & Cross-Cultural Community Manager

ROLE  | Cross-Cultural Community Manager 
REPORTS TO  |  Director of Program Operations
COMMITMENT | 25-40 hours/wk 
COMPENSATION  | 20/hr. 


OVERVIEW
In collaboration with the Treetops Collective Team, the Volunteer & Cross-Cultural Community Manager will further the Treetops mission by developing and supporting a network of cross-cultural partnerships (CCPs), volunteers, and companies. This role will reach new audiences interested in learning about Treetops work and identify creative ways to engage interested community members in connecting with and supporting our mission. 

Treetops is committed to coaching, professional development, and ongoing support for team members. This role will receive weekly supportive supervision and work collaboratively alongside Treetops co-workers and community leaders.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Recruit, Onboard and Support Cross-Cultural Partnerships (CCPs) through two cycles per year (Women’s Concentric and Teen Concentric)
  • Identify and develop new partnerships with local companies and businesses focused on cross-cultural awareness, education, and volunteer opportunities in alignment with corporate values and DEI work
  • Build and Strengthen the Cross-Cultural Cohort model through the development of college and university partnerships 
  • Create new cross-cultural engagement opportunities for community members leaning into relationship making and developing deep ongoing partnerships. Create learning, and advocacy opportunities for the growth and development of our community to build their resilience and capacity to respond


ADDITIONAL DUTIES
  • Facilitate Volunteer Orientations and Cross-Cultural Partnership Trainings 
  • Provide learning opportunities for Cross-Cultural Partnerships (individual and group), monthly support, and email/newsletter encouragement
  • Maintain data, monthly volunteer reporting, annual pre/post volunteer surveys
  • Build relationships with Concentric leaders to serve as a bridge between volunteer partner and program member needs 
  • Uphold Treetops Collective values and contribute to a healthy culture

DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to inspire, influence, & engage people to identify and align actions with beliefs
  • Comfortable speaking and forming relationships with people from different backgrounds, warm demeanor and ability to connect personally 
  • Experience working cross culturally  
  • Ability to present to large groups
  • Excellent and timely communication skills
  • Responsible and able to work independently while being accountable for results
  • Experience recruiting, managing, and/or leading volunteers, preferred
  • Project and/or program management, preferred
  • Familiarity with Grand Rapids organizations, resources and opportunities, preferred 
  • Basic competency in computer and online data systems
