Bilingual Parent Partner

The Bilingual Parent Partner draws on their own relevant experiences to support families in overcoming the challenges they face. The Bilingual Parent Partner must have personal experience as a caregiver of a child who has received services. These services can include Special Education, Mental Health Services, and Human Services such as CPS or Child Welfare, Juvenile Justice or Probation. 
 
As a Bilingual Parent Partner, you will work as part of a treatment team and primarily provide support to a child’s caregivers or significant supports. As a Parent Partner, you will be responsible for coordinating parent/caregiver support activities and resources and work individually with family members to engage them in the process, increase their involvement, and assist them in achieving their family and student goals. You will often works closely with the student’s school in order to help link the caregiver to school contacts and resources to increase academic success. As a Parent Partner, you will perform a wide range of activities, both individually and as part of the team, to facilitate positive changes in the family system. Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-judgmental, unconditional support to children and families participating in the Seneca Center Programs.  
  • Act as a member of the Child and Family Team, designated as the individual support person to the parent(s) or identified Supports. 
  • Actively engage families in the treatment planning process. 
  • Provide education, training, and direct interventions to family members as appropriate. 
  • Provide strength-based and culturally competent services 
  • Conduct community resource development. 
  • Flexibility to work a family-driven schedule which may include evenings and weekends. 




Qualifications

  • Experience/education requirements:
  •  Bachelor’s degree OR
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent + 1 year of applicable work experience OR
  • High school diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable work experience
  • Applicable experience includes any paid or unpaid experience working with youth or families, or working in the social services field
  • Personal caregiver experience of a youth who has been the recipient of child welfare and/or other behavioral health services.
  • Experience working with children with emotional disturbance and/or who exhibit extremely challenging behaviors and their families, preferred. 
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English) required.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and with a diverse population. 
  • Must be organized, creative, self-motivated, detail oriented and driven by excellence.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, including computer skills in Microsoft Office programs.  
  • Valid California driver's license, own vehicle, and insurable by Seneca's automobile policy.
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster required.

  • Full-time
  • Monday-Friday

  • Starting at $22 per hour. Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.
