Natural Resource Education Assistant
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide educational programs for the public and school groups including hatchery tours, fishing, and a wide variety of other program topics. Assist in the preparation of materials for educational programs. Interpret hiking trails for daily visitors, provide daily customer service for visitors on a variety of on-site and statewide conservation topics, and maintain exhibits, displays and daily upkeep of visitor center. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred completion of some coursework and or related experience in education, science education, fisheries & wildlife, environmental education, interpretation, conservation, or biology related field; strong personal commitment to natural resources education; some knowledge of Michigan fish; willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays; ability to work with a variety of age groups; must be creative, flexible, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
Must be available weekends.
