School Psychologist  

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
§ Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certificate
§ Specialist Degree in School Psychology required; Doctoral Degree preferred.
§ Knowledge of Special Education rules and regulations
§ Experience and training in administering and interpreting psychological evaluations within an educational setting
§ Demonstrated ability to successfully deal with diverse students, parents and staff
§ Knowledge of Response to Intervention Model/Multi-Tiered System of Support
RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Ability to independently and accurately implement the requirements of the IDEA and Michigan’s Special Education Rules
§ Adhere to the ethical standards and codes of the profession
§ Outstanding evaluation/diagnostic skills particularly in the areas of specific learning disability, emotional impairment, autism spectrum disorder, cognitive impairment, early childhood developmental delay, traumatic brain injury and severe multiple impairment
§ Utilize best practices when consulting/assessing English Language Learners
§ Experience with a variety of intelligence and achievement assessments
§ Conduct extensive psychological evaluations and re-evaluations of referred students
§ The capacity to effectively communicate psychological findings to professionals, parents and students in a meaningful manner
§ Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
§ Attend child studies and collaborate with staff for the completion of Review of Existing Evaluation Data for initial and/or three year evaluations
§ Excellent time-management and organizational skills
§ Ability to work effectively on a team with a variety of other staff members from various disciplines, as well as parents
§ Implement and stay current with new developments in the field of school psychology
§ Provide professional learning for staff and parents, as needed
§ Collaborate with all disciplines
§ Perform other duties as assigned

The fingerprinting is conducted by a third party and is at the expense of the applicant.
 
SALARY: Per the HFT Teacher Contract
