Human Resources Business Partner Intern

Job Summary: Provide support to the Human Resources Business Partner team focusing on multiple facets of HR including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, benefits & wellness, employee relations, compensation, and leaves of absence. This internship is paid and has the opportunity to continue over multiple semesters.

Required Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credits
  • Experience with various computer software applications
  • Typing and spelling competency
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide quality customer service

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Human Resources major or related field
  • Previous work experience in a Human Resources office setting

Essential Functions:
  • Learn and navigate PageUp, Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Post, update, and remove job ads from GVSU job board
  • Screen potential employees' resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to fill position openings.
  • Assist with hiring faculty and staff
  • Compile and ensure proper documentation for all university hires
  • Maintain employee paperwork packets to ensure compliance
  • Assist with gathering market salary data
  • Respond to faculty and staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.
  • Prepare HR-related reports as needed
  • Various administrative duties to support the office
  • Other projects as assigned
