Research Lab Tech Intermediate

Summary

The applicant will become an integral member of the Parkos-Nusrat research group studying epithelial biology and pathogenesis of mucosal inflammation in the gut. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to perform experiments using a variety of state-of-the-art techniques involving cell biology, protein biochemistry, molecular biology, and in vivo animal models. This position also provides the opportunity to learn cutting edge primary cell culture techniques required for cultivating human and murine enteroids. This position offers unique opportunities for ambitious individuals to interact with a diverse group including technicians, graduate students, post-docs, and faculty. This individual will maintain and provide primary cells to lab members and assist with executing experiments under the supervision of the laboratory manager and principal investigators.

Responsibilities*

Specific duties may involve the following:
 
Primary cell culture, molecular cell biology techniques, maintaining databases, and experimental records. Familiarity with basic laboratory instrumentation as well as record keeping is necessary. Other duties may be assigned by the faculty supervisor or manager, including scientific and technical support to ongoing projects.
